Our first Madeira garden holiday of 2010 departs in January. It's a wonderful time to visit Madeira, as the island's warm year-round climate is the perfect remedy to fend off those winter blues. A range of garden visits and excursions will be available and these can be booked from the hotel.

Staying at the Pestana Miramar Hotel

This elegant 4-star hotel, located in a quiet area of Funchal and a short distance from the city centre, is surrounded by award-winning gardens and views of the mountains. Great Garden Getaways has used this lovely hotel many times in recent years, with unanimous approval.

Accommodation includes kitchenette, private bathroom, twin beds, cable TV, telephone, safety deposit box (for rental) and private balcony. The Miramar Restaurant provides buffet-style meals, with theme evenings and live entertainment. Leisure facilities include a health spa with sauna, jacuzzi, turkish bath, outdoor and indoor swimming pools.
