On our
Great Gardens of North Yorkshire tour, from our hotel in Ripon, the Best
Western Ripon Spa Hotel, we are well placed to cover a wide variety of
gardens, from the huge herbaceous borders of Newby Hall & Gardens to the
most important arboretum in the North of England, Thorp Perrow Arboretum
& Woodland Garden.
Set
within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Parcevall Hall Gardens is a
hidden gem. Located on a steep hillside in utterly peaceful surroundings, it
combines a wonderful range of mixed planting with fabulous views. A visit to
Ripley Castle Gardens includes many features - woodland walks, extensive
walled gardens, shrubberies and more.
En route
to North Yorkshire we will visit Brodsworth Hall, with splendid Victorian gardens,
now restored as first laid out in the 1860s, and RHS Harlow Carr, with the
Spring coloured woodland walk a particular delight.
On our return
home we will visit Helmsley Walled Garden, set against the backdrop of
Helmsley Castle in the foothills of the North York Moors, and Scampston Hall,
with its fabulous contemporary garden created by designer Piet Oudolf.
Your
Great Garden Getaway includes:
