Garden holidays in Jersey

Jersey is the largest and most southerly of the UK Channel Islands, just fourteen miles from the Normandy shores.

Our tour begins with a visit to Creux Baillot Cottage Garden in St Ouen, which is set in a tranquil valley and has an amazing collection of rare and unusual plants packed into its small space. From here we travel to the parish of St Peter, to visit the delightful garden of Le Clos du Chemin, where the owner will join us on a tour of the garden.

Next on the list is Domaine des Vaux, a 10 acre garden in St Lawrence, which is in two contrasting parts. The upper garden is a formal Italianate garden, with borders packed with shrubs and perennials, and the lower garden is a semi-wild valley with a stream and a variety of shrubs and trees.

At this time of year, rare wild orchids can be found in the meadows of le Noir Pre, owned by the National Trust for Jersey, and our knowledgeable guide will join us to point these out, along with other flora, fauna and wildlife. After our nature walk, we will return to the parish of St Peter to visit Lande a Geon, where the owner will give us a tour of the 3 acre sloped garden, containing a variety of mixed planting.

In addition we will visit Grey Gables in St Brelade. This delightful year-round garden has a fine walled garden, along with a small secret white garden, herb and vegetable garden. From the croquet lawn there are steps down to the lower garden, with Australian tree ferns thriving by the pond.

We also have a free day with time to explore some of the many attractions Jersey has to offer its visitors, and these will be available for booking from the hotel.

This stylish, 3* hotel is situated on the beach in the centre of St Brelade’s Bay, and offers excellent views of one of Jersey’s finest beaches.
