Here are the 3 steps for how your
design will be researched and produced.
Step 1 -
Consultation
This takes about 2 hours, during which time I assess the site and your
requirements. By the end of the consultation you should have a
clearer idea of the possibilities for your garden and be in a position, if you
wish, to commission a full design.
Costs
For the consultation there is a small fixed charge to cover my time and expenses
(refundable for those journeys within 50 miles of my home, if you agree to
commission a design).
Step 2 – Commissioning a Design
This includes a complete survey and analysis of the site. The design is then
hand drawn to scale, coloured and packaged in a folder along with a spare black
and white copy.
Costs
This will depend on the size of the site and the intricacy of the design. A
guide price for a small, back or front garden is from £200.
Step 3 – Planting Schemes
The design does not automatically include detailed planting plans for borders.
If this is required, a discussion to agree the style of planting and maturity of
plants will be needed. I will then include the plant names,
quantities and placings on the main design. If required, I can source the
plants, arrange delivery and plant up the garden borders. Maintenance schedules
can also be compiled for the ongoing care of the plants.
Costs
This will depend entirely on the number and size of borders to be planted. As
each border will be unique, it will take time to compile a plan and this will be
reflected in the price. As a guide, allow £10 per square metre.
